Position Overview

BAE Systems Australia is seeking an Aviation Technical Instructor to join the Aircraft Sustainment & Training team in Wagga Wagga. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in the Aviation Technical Training project, delivering specialized instruction to the Australian Defence Force to support the future of Defence aviation. This position focuses on the delivery of high-quality training, student development, and adherence to safety and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitate and deliver aviation technical training during Initial Employment Training (IET) and Post-Initial Employment Training.
  • Supervise Australian Defence Force personnel within a Simulated Working Environment.
  • Provide expert aviation technical knowledge, skills, and professional advice to ensure optimal training outcomes.
  • Design, develop, and implement training solutions and documentation in alignment with stakeholder and operational requirements.
  • Develop and maintain effective professional relationships with customers, government bodies, and industry partners.
  • Maintain accurate electronic and hard copy training records.
  • Provide guidance, mentorship, and support to Defence trainees regarding aviation best practices.

Candidate Requirements

  • Demonstrated industry experience as a qualified Aviation Maintenance Engineer (AME) and/or Aircraft/Electrical Engineer with significant experience in Aviation Safety Regulations.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships across a broad range of stakeholders.
  • Must be an Australian citizen, with the ability to obtain and maintain a Defence security clearance.
  • Eligibility to obtain a White Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC).
  • Eligibility to be cleared for International Traffic In Arms (ITAR) regulations.
  • Highly Regarded: Certificate III/IV in Aero skills, higher qualification, or current EASA/CASA Licence.
  • Highly Regarded: Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116) or prior technical training instructor experience.
