Casual Aviation Instructor - Wagga Wagga

BAE Systems is seeking applications for Casual Aviation Technical Instructors to join the Aircraft Sustainment & Training team in Wagga Wagga, NSW. This role offers flexible, ongoing part-time or casual working arrangements, allowing successful candidates to manage their hours on a month-to-month basis.

Role Overview

The successful candidate will facilitate high-quality aviation technical training for the Australian Defence Force, supporting student development within the Aviation Technical Training project. Responsibilities include ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards while delivering training across Initial Employment Training (IET) and Post-Initial Employment Training programs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver technical training in both classroom and simulated working environments.
  • Provide specialist technical advice and mentor Defence trainees in aviation best practices.
  • Design, develop, and implement training solutions and related documentation.
  • Supervise personnel and ensure training outputs meet rigorous stakeholder and operational requirements.
  • Maintain accurate training records and documentation.
  • Foster effective relationships with customers, government, and industry partners.

Essential Requirements

  • Demonstrated industry experience as a qualified Aviation Maintenance Engineer (AME) or Aircraft/Electrical Engineer.
  • Proven experience in Aviation Safety Regulations.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for stakeholder engagement.
  • Eligibility to obtain and maintain an Australian Defence security clearance (must be an Australian citizen).
  • Eligibility to obtain an Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC).
  • Eligibility to be cleared for International Traffic In Arms (ITAR) regulations.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Certificate III/IV in Aeroskills, higher-level qualifications, or a current EASA/CASA Licence.
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116) or equivalent technical instructor experience.
