Overview

BAE Systems is seeking qualified Aviation Technical Instructors to join the Aircraft Sustainment & Training team in Wagga Wagga. This role involves delivering high-quality aviation and technical training to the Australian Defence Force. These positions offer flexible, ongoing working arrangements with hours determined on a month-to-month basis.

Role Responsibilities

  • Facilitate and deliver aviation technical training for Initial Employment Training (IET) and Post-Initial Employment Training.
  • Supervise Australian Defence Force personnel within a Simulated Working Environment.
  • Provide specialist aviation technical expertise and professional guidance to optimize training outcomes.
  • Design, develop, and implement training solutions and associated documentation aligned with operational requirements.
  • Maintain accurate training records and documentation.
  • Develop and sustain effective relationships with customers, government stakeholders, and industry partners.
  • Mentor and support Defence trainees in accordance with aviation best practices.

Essential Requirements

  • Demonstrated industry experience as a qualified Aviation Maintenance Engineer (AME) and/or Aircraft/Electrical Engineer.
  • Extensive knowledge of Aviation Safety Regulations.
  • Australian citizenship is required to obtain and maintain a Defence security clearance.
  • Eligibility to be cleared for International Traffic in Arms (ITAR) regulations.
  • Eligibility to obtain a White Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills suitable for diverse stakeholder engagement.

Highly Regarded Qualifications

  • Certificate III/IV in Aeroskills, or higher technical qualifications.
  • Current EASA/CASA Licence.
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116) or equivalent technical instructor experience.
