Overview
BAE Systems Australia is seeking multiple Aviation Technical Instructors to join the Aircraft Sustainment & Training team based in Wagga Wagga, NSW. These are ongoing casual positions offering flexibility in working hours.
The successful candidates will be responsible for delivering high-quality aviation training, supporting student development, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards. This role is integral to the Aviation Technical Training project, providing aviation and technical manager training to the Australian Defence Force.
Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate and deliver aviation technical training during Initial Employment Training (IET) and Post-Initial Employment Training.
- Supervise Australian Defence Force personnel within a Simulated Working Environment.
- Provide specialist aviation technical skills, knowledge, and professional advice to support training outcomes.
- Design, develop, and implement training solutions and documentation that meet stakeholder and operational requirements.
- Ensure training outputs align with requirements for Initial Employment Training and Post Initial Employment Training.
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with customers, government, and industry partners.
- Maintain accurate electronic and hard copy training records and documentation.
- Guide, mentor, and support Defence trainees and students in aviation best practice.
Candidate Requirements
- Demonstrated industry experience as a qualified Aviation Maintenance Engineer (AME) and/or Aircraft/Electrical Engineers with significant experience in Aviation Safety Regulations.
- A Certificate III/IV in Aero skills, a higher qualification, or a current EASA/CASA Licence will be highly regarded.
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116) or technical training instructor experience will be highly regarded.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to develop effective relationships with a broad range of stakeholders.
- Possession of a Defence security clearance or eligibility to obtain one.
- Possession of a White Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC) or eligibility to obtain one.
- Eligibility to be cleared for International Traffic In Arms (ITAR) regulations.
