We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Aviation Technical Instructor to join our Aircraft Sustainment & Training team on a permanent basis in Wagga Wagga, NSW. This pivotal role is responsible for delivering high-quality aviation training, fostering student development, and upholding the highest standards of safety and regulatory compliance. We invite applications from qualified Aircraft Maintenance Engineers specializing in Mechanical, Avionics, Structures, Life Support, or individuals with extensive experience in Defence Aviation Safety Regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate and deliver comprehensive technical training for both Initial Employment Training and Post Initial Employment Training programs.
- Supervise Australian Defence Force personnel within a Simulated Working Environment to ensure practical application of skills.
- Provide specialist skills and expert advice to support the continuous improvement of aviation technical training.
- Develop and maintain strong professional relationships with the customer, government representatives, and industry partners.
- Design and develop robust training solutions and documentation that meet stakeholder requirements for all training programs.
- Maintain meticulous and accurate electronic and hard copy records of all training documentation.
- Guide and mentor Defence trainees and students, instilling best practices within a professional aviation environment.
Candidate Profile
- Demonstrated industry experience as a qualified Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) or Aircraft/Electrical Engineer with significant experience in Aviation Safety Regulations.
- A Certificate III/IV in Aeroskills, a higher qualification, or a current EASA/CASA Licence is highly desirable.
- A Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116) or previous experience as a technical training instructor will be highly regarded.
- Possesses strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to develop effective relationships with a broad range of stakeholders.
- Must hold or be eligible to obtain a Defence security clearance.
- Must hold or be eligible to obtain an Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC).
- Must be eligible for clearance under International Traffic In Arms (ITAR) regulations.
