Job Purpose
The Aircraft Maintenance Technician performs scheduled inspections, maintenance, and unscheduled rectification of Aircraft Equipment and associated components. This critical role involves comprehensive Bay support and active participation in PC9 Flight Line and Intermediate Maintenance operations. The successful candidate will be expected to achieve and maintain Production Inspections signatory capability for authorised specific trade certifications, and to obtain and maintain additional certifications to support specialty and aircraft maintenance functions, including achieving specialty cross-utilisation training (CUT) qualifications.
Key responsibilities for this role also encompass providing On-the-Job Training (OJT) functions and executing Production Inspections. The technician will demonstrate proficiency in troubleshooting, inspections, removals, installations, and repairs, and will be capable of operating PC9 Flight Line and Intermediate Maintenance operations, along with associated support and test equipment.
Job Accountabilities
The Aircraft Maintenance Technician will be primarily responsible for:
- Providing operationally capable aircraft in support of King Faisal Air Academy (KFAA) pilot training programmes through the meticulous execution of aircraft maintenance tasks. This includes Flight Line Servicing, scheduled servicing, fault troubleshooting and rectification, modifications, and comprehensive inspections/evaluations of aircraft systems and components within the Aircraft Maintenance Technician (AMT) specialty at the Intermediate/Organisational level for training aircraft.
- Delivering expert technical specialty support in the evaluation, interpretation, and determination of requisite maintenance faults and corrective actions. This extends to assessing the performance and operational status of specialty-specific aircraft systems, components, and the effective testing and use of support equipment.
- Achieving and diligently maintaining Production Inspections signatory capability for authorised specific trade certifications, and proactively obtaining and maintaining additional certifications to support specialty and aircraft maintenance functions.
- Acquiring user expertise and becoming fully conversant with the Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) aircraft data management and tracking computer systems, including AUTO LOG and MIRO Gold.
- Adhering strictly to and complying with the RSAF Safety and Foreign Object Programme.
Recruitment Specification
Essential Requirements:
- Possession of a National civilian/military equivalent recognised aircraft maintenance traineeship or apprenticeship.
- Relevant type training ('Q' Course) and equipment specific training where required.
- Extensive post-qualification practical maintenance experience within an operational flying aircraft environment, supported by formally recorded workplace applied related training; OR extensive experience on the same aircraft type; OR successful completion of a BAESSA apprenticeship programme (SNTTP/TSNTTP).
- Demonstrable in-depth knowledge and understanding of aircraft maintenance and engineering principles.
- A thorough understanding and practical application of human factors, error management, health and safety protocols, and proactive hazard analysis, appropriate to the role.
- Computer literacy with a sound understanding and proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Must be a quality-minded, mature individual who consistently adopts a positive and proactive approach to aircraft maintenance and support issues.
- Must possess and be able to demonstrate sound oral and written two-way communication skills, coupled with the ability to be tactful, discreet, and confident in dealing with individuals at all levels.
- Capable of working effectively and collaboratively in close harmony within a diverse expatriate and Saudi National (EE/SN) workforce.
- Able to work autonomously and demonstrate initiative to successfully resolve complex technical issues.
- Comprehensive knowledge of relevant parts of the Maintenance Organisation Exposition (MOE) and associated procedures.
- Proven ability to confirm full accomplishment of maintenance tasks.
- Proficiency in the use, control, and familiarity with required tooling and equipment.
Desirable Attributes:
- Broad knowledge of the aerospace and defence company/industry landscape.
- A solid understanding of BAESSA engineering operating procedures.
- A sound understanding of the RSAF 4-1-7166 series and supporting technical publications applicable to their work area.
- Working knowledge of Q-pulse, DMS (Document Management System), and an understanding of M&CA (Maintenance & Continuing Airworthiness) processes.
- Completion of PC9 Aircraft Systems specific training courses appropriate to their specialties.
