BAE Systems is offering a temporary position as a short-term intern for our FAR Part 91 corporate aviation department located at Washington-Dulles International Airport (KIAD – Dulles, Virginia). Our department consists of a team of professionals committed to providing the highest level of service and safety while operating BAE corporate aircraft in domestic and international operations. The flight department intern will spend 3-weeks in a “full-immersion” environment, gaining first-hand knowledge of corporate aircraft operations and management. The intern will participate in job shadowing across all disciplines including flight crew, dispatch/scheduling, maintenance, safety, cabin safety, and regulatory compliance. Required Education, Experience, & Skills Must be currently enrolled in a graduate program or completed an undergraduate degree within the last 12 months;Unrestricted US Passport;Minimum 3.0 GPA;FAA Commercial Pilot (ASMEL) with Instrument Rating;Proficiency with Microsoft Office and overall computer skills;Satisfactory disciplinary record (both at school and in the community);We have a strong desire for a student that has shown an interest in a non-airline career track, has a positive attitude, and is self-motivated to learn and work;Preference is somebody that may have completed some of the upper level collegiate courses such as General Aviation Operations and Management, International/Long Range Navigation, Crew Resource Management, Transport Category Systems, Advanced Aircraft Operations, or Advanced Aerodynamics courses; ***Applicants will be required to submit a resume and a short essay/cover letter detailing their interest in a non-airline career track as part of the application process*** Pay InformationFull-Time Salary Range: $58344 - $81128 Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience. Temporary employees generally are not eligible for BAE Systems benefits, but can elect to participate in the 401(k) savings plan. Temporary employees working 20+ hours per week are eligible for medical benefits, the employee assistance program, and business travel accident insurance.
