Aviation Theoretical Training Standardization Specialist / Curriculum Lead
This highly challenging and vital role requires an experienced aviation professional to oversee and standardize all aspects of theoretical knowledge instruction within the training organization. The Specialist will be instrumental in maintaining the highest standards of regulatory compliance, instructional quality, and curriculum development, ensuring all theoretical training programs align with international best practices and regulatory requirements (Part-FCL, ICAO).
Scope of Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be offered a wide scope of responsibilities, initially covering the following key areas:
- Standardization and Quality Assurance: Establishing theoretical training standards and actively supporting Theory Instructors (TKI) in their implementation.
- Instructor Management: Executing comprehensive standardization for theoretical knowledge instructors, controlling their level of preparation, supervising the methodical delivery of lectures, and providing necessary advanced training to ensure optimal instructional quality and adherence to set standards.
- Curriculum Development: Preparing, updating, and continuously developing methodical literature and training material. The Specialist ensures all content for theoretical training rigorously adheres to the latest requirements specified by the Training Manual (TM) and EASA Part-FCL.
- Regulatory Compliance: Updating and adjusting theoretical training programs to guarantee full compliance with EASA Part-FCL, ICAO standards, and local Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) requirements (e.g., TKA CAA).
- Training Strategy: Contributing significantly to the development of new training programs for the theoretical phase, specialized instructor training, and mandatory refresher courses.
- Operational Planning: Developing strategic training plans and detailed schedules in response to projected student throughput.
- Administrative Oversight: Preparing, controlling, and supervising the complete documentation process related to theoretical training activities.
- Performance Monitoring: Systematically assessing and controlling student progress through the evaluation of their methodical preparation, coupled with strict supervision of the entire theoretical examination process.
- Strategic Alignment: Setting and achieving clearly defined short-term and long-term objectives that support the company's broader strategic goals, operating consistently within approved company processes.
- General Duties: Performing additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by the direct manager.
Candidate Profile and Required Qualifications
The company seeks a dynamic team member who demonstrates exceptional leadership in aviation training and possesses the following qualifications:
- Aviation Instruction Expertise: Possesses extensive, proven experience as a Theoretical Knowledge Instructor (TKI), specifically focused on complex Type Rating subjects.
- Regulatory Mastery: Demonstrates comprehensive knowledge of EASA Part-FCL regulations.
- Flight Licensing: Must hold, or have previously held, a Commercial Pilot License (CPL) or Airline Transport Pilot License (ATPL(A)).
- Instructional Ratings: Holds a current Type Rating Instructor (TRI) or Synthetic Flight Instructor (SFI) rating, preferably on B737 or A320 aircraft types.
- Modern Training Concepts: Has established experience with advanced training methodologies, including Evidence-Based Training (EBT) and Competency-Based Training and Assessment (CBTA).
- Leadership Experience: Previous experience as a Chief Theoretical Knowledge Instructor (CTKI), Training Manager, or Deputy within the aviation training industry is a significant advantage.
- Technology Proficiency: Demonstrates proficient skills in a Microsoft Office 365 environment or strong foundational computer literacy.
- Attitude and Drive: Is self-motivated, willing to take strong ownership, and demonstrates a flexible approach complemented by excellent time management skills.
