Job Purpose
The First Officer’s task is to operate the aircraft in a safe and economical manner and support the Captain. In the event of the incapacitation of the Captain, the First Officer will assume command. The First Officer will be expected to operate in an efficient operation working within the framework of the aviation regulations and the BA Cityflyer Operations Manual. Effective risk management techniques should be applied to ensure both commercial and customer service needs are met, all within the context of a safe operation.
Principal Accountabilities

The First Officer is responsible to the Captain to assist in a safe and efficient conduct of the flight

Maintain familiarity with such provisions of the company Operations Manual as are necessary to fulfil the role of First Officer

Assist the Captain as requested, concerning operational and administrative duties in relation to the flight

Support the Captain in the maintenance of a proper standard of crew discipline, conduct and personal appearance

To maintain familiarity with relevant United Kingdom and International air legislation and agreed aviation practices and procedures

To lead, motivate and develop the overall skills of the flight crew Behaviours and Attitude

Comfortable operating a busy schedule, with BA Cityflyer flights operating 365 days a year

Comfortable working with colleagues and customers from all cultures and nationalities, and able to identify, and work, with cultural differences

Qualifications/Experience

You must hold a Current UK CAA Part-FCL licence (Frozen ATPL (A) or CPL (A)).

A UK issued CAA Class 1 medical certificate with at least 6 months validity remaining from date of joining (Any other Class 1 Medical certificate acceptable to the UK CAA must be transferred to a CAA medical before date of joining).

Height will be between 1.57m (5'2") and 1.91m (6'3") (height is accurately determined during the assessment process) Qualified pilots who are taller than 1.91m may submit an application but may be required to undergo a functionality check to confirm their ability tomeet the requirements of the seating positions in the BA Cityflyer fleet of aircraft.

A good level of physical fitness, and ability to satisfy the BA Cityflyer medicalrequirements.

ICAO Level 6 proficiency in English language

A valid passport (with minimum of 12 months before expiry date) allowing unrestricted worldwide travel

Within the supporting files section;
Pilots meeting ZFTT requirements (please include as a minimum), a copy of your licence (showing the type rating section) and the last 3 pages of your logbook.
Low hour pilots (and pilots who do not meet ZFTT requirements) must have completed ALL elements of flight training before submitting an application. Please include your licence (or proof that you have submitted you licence application*), last 3 pages of your logbook, an APS MCC course completion certificate and your final course report from your ATO (or equivalent reports/ professional references, detailing each stage of your
training, if you were modular) Please ensure this document includes your Ground School results (including number of resits, if any) and your CPL/IR results. If you do not have a similar document, please include the CAA documents which outline your ground school and flying results. If you have flight instructor experience please also include your instructor rating with details of your hours of instructing in the past 12 months.
*Pilots who are awaiting their licence and are successful in the process will remain in the hold pool until they are in possession of their licence.
