Fighter Pilot Subject Matter Expert

Position Overview:

The Fighter Pilot SME will play a crucial role in providing operational and tactical expertise during Distributed Mission Operations (DMO) training events. The SME will leverage their deep understanding of air-to-air combat to enhance the realism and effectiveness of training scenarios.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide expert guidance and support during DMO Operational Training events
Conduct comprehensive mission briefings, lead execution, facilitate debriefings, and prepare post-mission documentation
Collaborate with Network Operations Center (NOC) personnel to ensure seamless Event Control Center (ECC) setup
Identify and troubleshoot issues related to simulation software applications
Participate in scheduled academic sessions, meetings, and other training activities
Deliver instructional briefings and training as coordinated with the DMO Training Center (DTOC) Training Coordinator
Provide support for other Operational Testing & Training Infrastructure activities as directed by the Government
Offer support during select Air National Guard (ANG) Drill weekends
Undertake additional duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in a related field and 10 years of relevant experience; Master's degree and 8 years of relevant experience; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 14 years of relevant experience
Extensive experience as a fighter aircraft pilot or weapons system operator, with a strong emphasis on air-to-air combat within the past five years
Proven experience as an instructor or evaluator
Minimum of five years of operational air-to-air experience
Secret Clearance with the ability to obtain a Top Secret Clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

Three years of experience conducting training within a DMO environment
Graduation from the USAF Fighter Weapons School or Top Gun program
Expertise in 5th Generation fighter employment strategies
Proficiency with environment generator software, including Next Generation Threat System (NGTS) and Modern Air Combat Environment (MACE)
Active Top Secret Security Clearance
