Advanced Instructor - Upset Recovery Training
Aviation Performance Solutions (APS) is seeking a qualified and experienced Advanced Instructor to deliver world-class Upset Prevention and Recovery Training (UPRT) in Mesa, Arizona. The successful candidate will instruct owner/operator, corporate, business, executive, government, military, and commercial pilots in both ground school and flight operations. The instructor will utilize the Extra 300L aerobatic airplane, with potential advancement to the S211 SIAI-Marchetti jet trainer. After an initial period, instructors will also become qualified to teach UPRT programs in advanced simulators. APS helps pilots bring everyone home safely. Responsibilities:
- Deliver UPRT ground and flight instruction using high-performance, aerobatic airplanes.
- Conduct flight profiles including upset recovery, stall/spin training, and associated all-attitude aerobatic instruction.
- Operate from the base in Mesa, Arizona (KIWA).
Required Qualifications:
- 1500 hours of total flight time.
- Substantial all-attitude, all-envelope flight experience (500+ flight hours preferred). Examples include military flight instructor, tactical or fighter experience, aerobatics (competition/airshow), or test pilot school graduate with spin testing experience.
- FAA Commercial Single-Engine Land (SEL) Pilot’s License.
- FAA Certified Flight Instructor Rating (CFI).
Desired Qualifications:
- Two years of commercial and/or military experience flying crewed multi-engine turboprop and/or turbofan/turbojet aircraft.
- Two years of experience as a CFI and/or military flight instructor (200+ hours preferred).
- 2000+ hour total flight time.
- One or more type ratings.
