Description

We are seeking a Chief Pilot who will practice “Safety Always” in every aspect of job performance and flight operations. You will be responsible for the supervision of the flight crews, flight crew qualification, airman duties and flight deck procedures. As Chief Pilot you will lead by living all of our values of Safety Always, Keeping It Simple, Do The Right Thing, and One Crew on every flight, every day.

Outcomes and Responsibilities:

1) SAFETY: Participate in the Safety Management System (SMS) Program as follows:

  • Support safety promotion, quality and safety culture.
  • Serve as a member of the Safety Committee for the SMS Program, ensuring decisions of the Safety Committee are established, implemented and maintained.
  • Have authority to immediately stop all flight activity for reasons of safety or regulatory compliance.
  • Responsible for administration and execution of Company standards as it pertains to flight operations

2) FLIGHT STANDARDS: Act as liaison between the Company and the FAA in those areas of assigned responsibility or as tasked by the Director of Operations.

  • Assist the Director of Standards with standardization policies and levels of proficiency for flight crewmembers.
  • Coordinate with Crew Scheduling and Director of OCC to ensure the most efficient scheduling and utilization of flight crews.
  • Responsible for and authorized to change manuals as defined in the MOM, including reviews of source documents from manufacturers, etc.
  • Responsible for disseminating any updated information regarding all weather terminal area operations and navigation programs including RVSM, Lower Landing, and Takeoff Minimums.
  • Complete administrative functions relating to pilot work assignments, pay and vacation.
  • Exercise Operational Control of all flights as delegated by the Director of Operations.
  • Analyze pilot personnel staffing requirements and report those findings to the Director of Operations.
  • Advise the Director of Operations on all matters pertaining to flight crew members, all formal courses of instruction, Company operations manuals, and training manuals, directives, and memoranda.

3) CUSTOMER AND CREW LEADERSHIP: Build customer loyalty and live our “One Crew” value by leading flight operations to deliver on our purpose, values, vision, and brand.

  • Responsible for assuring good relations between leadership and the pilot group, by maintaining open transparent communication.
  • Manage appointment of Check Airman and participates in scheduled Check Airman meetings.

4) Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Operations.

Requirements

  • Must have an FAA B737 type rating
  • Must meet all requirements of 14 CFR Part 119.67(b)
