Position Summary

The Flight Standards Administrator provides critical administrative and regulatory support to the Flight Standards organization and Standards Captains. This role coordinates and tracks FAA-required observations, Aircrew Program Designee (APD) currency, and fleet procedural standardization initiatives. The Administrator also assists with the management of standards publications, FAA interface activities, and governance support for meetings and calibration processes to ensure consistent operational execution across all fleets.

Major Job Accountabilities

  • Provides administrative support to the Senior Director, Flight Operations and Standards Captains in the execution of Flight Standards initiatives and regulatory responsibilities.
  • Tracks FAA-required observations for Aircrew Program Designees (APDs), monitors currency status, and coordinates scheduling requests with the FAA.
  • Prepares and coordinates formal requests to the FAA for APD observations and manages follow-up activities.
  • Maintains tracking systems for APD designation status to ensure compliance with FAA oversight and internal monitoring requirements.
  • Supports Standards Captains in fleet procedural alignment and standardization initiatives.
  • Coordinates and tracks updates across Flight Standards manuals to maintain alignment with regulatory requirements.
  • Manages the lifecycle of Standards-related documentation, ensuring updates are routed for review and approval.
  • Administers Fleet Standards meetings, including scheduling, attendance tracking, and record maintenance.
  • Tracks APD calibration activities to support evaluation consistency across various fleets.
  • Serves as the administrative interface between Flight Standards and the FAA for observation scheduling and oversight support.
  • Assists in preparing documentation for regulatory inquiries and program oversight activities.
  • Supports department initiatives focused on operational consistency and procedural standardization.

Qualifications

  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience supporting airline operational or regulatory programs within a Part 121 environment preferred.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Experience with FAA-related coordination and familiarity with Aircrew Program Designee (APD) oversight processes preferred.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Aviation Management or a related field preferred.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite required; experience with AIMS or similar airline operational systems preferred.
  • Regulatory Expertise: Working knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs) applicable to Part 121 operations preferred.
  • Professional Skills: Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle sensitive regulatory information with discretion.
  • Coordination: Ability to manage multiple assignments in a deadline-driven environment and coordinate across multiple operational departments.
  • Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to support multiple stakeholders across Flight Operations.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range for this position is $62,500 - $84,000 USD. Competitive compensation is offered based on experience, skills, education, and geographic location. The total compensation package includes a range of benefits such as medical, dental, and vision insurance, an employee assistance program, generous paid time off, and 401K contributions.
