SA-227 Captain Cargo Pilot

Ameriflight, LLC, the nation’s largest Part 135 cargo airline, is seeking a qualified Captain to operate the Fairchild SA227 Metroliner. This outstation-domiciled position is based in San Angelo, TX (SJT), with regular operations to San Antonio (SAT) four times per week. Ameriflight provides scalable, outsourced aviation services to major cargo integrators and manufacturers across the United States.

Position Overview

The Captain will be responsible for operating the SA-227 Metroliner, flying four round trips per week from San Angelo to San Antonio, with lodging provided during layovers.

Requirements

  • Must meet FAR 135.243(c) requirements for Pilot in Command (PIC) in IFR conditions.
  • Minimums: 1,800 hours Total Time (TT), 1,000 hours PIC, 500 hours cross-country (point-to-point), 250 hours multi-engine, 100 hours turbine, 100 hours instrument (50 in aircraft), and 100 hours night flight.
  • Previous FAR 121/135 experience required; previous multi-turbine PIC experience strongly preferred.
  • Must have completed an Instrument Proficiency Check or 121/135 recurrent training within the past 6 months.
  • Commercial Pilot License (Multi-Engine Land) with Instrument rating, and High Performance and Complex endorsements.
  • First or Second Class Medical (First Class required for international operations).
  • FCC Restricted Radiotelephone Operator Permit.
  • Current Passport and English proficiency.
  • Eligibility to work in the U.S. with unrestricted travel capabilities.
  • Ability to meet airport badging requirements, including a TSA security background check.
  • Valid Driver’s License and ability to meet all company insurance criteria.
