About the Role

American Flyers is offering a unique Mechanic to Pilot sponsorship program at its Morristown, New Jersey location. This opportunity combines valuable A&P mechanic work with flight training scholarships, enabling successful candidates to pursue a career as a pilot. The program supports the attainment of Private, Instrument, and Commercial pilot licenses, with potential for further ratings such as CFI/CFII.

Responsibilities

• Perform A&P mechanic duties.
• Participate in flight training activities funded by scholarships.
• Work towards obtaining Private, Instrument, and Commercial pilot licenses.
• Potentially pursue CFI/CFII ratings.

Requirements

• Possess valid Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) certificates.
• Authorized to work in the United States without requiring sponsorship.
• Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
• Successfully complete an interview.
• Be at least 17 years of age.
• Hold a valid Class 3 Medical Certificate.

Qualifications

• Initial aircraft experience may include Cessna 172, Piper PA-28, and Piper Seminole.
• PPL and CPL licenses are the initial goal, with no type rating required at the outset.

Upon successful completion of the program, there are opportunities for employment as a Flight Instructor or an A&P mechanic within American Flyers.
