American Airlines is seeking a motivated, energetic Supervisor to join the Pilot Records team at the Flight Academy in Fort Worth, TX. Being a part of the Flight Training & Standards organization means that you will contribute to successfully training over 13,000 of the world’s safest pilots. This position reports to the Senior Manager – Advanced Qualification Program (AQP).
What you’ll do

Lead team providing coaching, counseling, guidance, and professional development to pilot records Administrators.

Monitor performance of direct reports, documenting progress and any opportunities for improvement.

Develop standardized initial training curriculum for successful onboarding of new administrators.

Ensure all Pilot Training Records are in compliance with applicable regulations and policies.

Verify successful completion of various phases of training including qualification, continuing qualification, and requalification courses.

Maintain expert level knowledge of all AQP training programs for Pilots, Instructors, and Evaluators.

Implement rollout of the new FAA Pilot Records Database in accordance with federal regulations.

Oversee ongoing updates and maintenance required to training recordkeeping systems, both electronic and paper.

Coordinate compliance with provisions of the Pilot Record Improvement Act (PRIA).

Serve as central point of contact for all internal & external audits pertaining to training records.

Document all essential business practices in departmental process manuals for continuity.

Provide escalation support to team for highly complex training scenarios.

Collaborate with internal departments (Flight Operations, Flight Service, Dispatch Operations, AQP, Training Scheduling, Safety, etc.).

Liaise with external agencies (FAA, DOD, TSA, IATA, etc.) to ensure compliance with regulations and AQP documentation.

Any other additional duties as assigned by Senior Manager – AQP.
All you’ll need for success
Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

Bachelor’s degree in relevant field or equivalent experience
-
Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of performing tasks in a timely manner with minimum supervision

Ability to produce a quality, error-free product with no revisions required

Above average non-verbal, verbal and written communication skills
-
Excellent interpersonal skills with experience in managing a team

Exceptional aptitude for task analysis, reasoning, fact-finding, prioritization, decision making and problem solving

Extreme organizational skills in a high workload environment, with continually shifting priorities, and pressure to meet firm deadlines

Highest degree of confidentiality and willingness to be subject to a non-disclosure agreement

Flexibility to work weekends and holidays

Regional or major airline experience in training records
Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

Master’s degree in relevant field

FAA Pilot License
-
Technical aviation experience in Part 121/135 or military operations
Skills, Licenses & Certifications
