About the Role

American Airlines seeks a Supervisor, Crew Scheduling to join the Integrated Operations Division at their Fort Worth, Texas location. This role is responsible for coordinating daily operational requirements, including shift coverage for Flight Attendant Crew Schedulers and overseeing the scheduling, rescheduling, and reassignment of flight attendant crew members across various bases.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate coverage of open sequences for crew bases in accordance with the JCBA contractual labor agreement(s) and FAR 121 Limitations.
  • Assist the Manager on Duty with daily operational requirements, ensuring efficient and cost-effective allocation of open time due to operational disruptions.
  • Supervise, lead, and guide a team of Crew Schedulers, conducting performance conversations and providing coaching and recognition.
  • Motivate the team for continuous improvement in processes and internal customer experience.
  • Assist the Senior Manager with special assignments as needed.
  • Attend crew system meetings and provide feedback on behalf of Flight Attendant scheduling.
  • Participate in regular meetings with APFA and Labor Relations.
  • Lead grievance and pay claim research.
  • Participate in the development and revision of contractual materials and presentations.
  • Research and provide coverage report updates.
  • Work extended hours, including holidays and weekends, as operational needs dictate, in a 24/7/365 environment.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED equivalency.
  • 3 years of job-related experience.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Strong customer service and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively at all organizational levels.
  • Ability to work effectively in a highly stressful environment.
  • Demonstrated sound judgment in decision-making.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to constant change.
  • Cognitive ability to read, understand, and apply numerical and textual information.
  • Ability to prepare written and verbal presentations.
  • Proficiency in learning and applying computer applications.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and handle multiple tasks concurrently.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Reliable and timely reporting to work.
  • Capability to manually complete duties during system outages.
  • Effective communication with crew members, Flight Service Department, Labor Relations, and APFA regarding contractual obligations and assignments.
  • Understanding of the 24-hour clock and worldwide time zones.
  • Ability to comprehend the JCBA labor agreement.
  • Ability to lead and guide direct reports.
  • Compliance with the AA Attendance policy.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2 years of Crew Scheduling experience.
  • Experience working with contract labor groups and knowledge of the Flight Attendant JCBA.
