Job Title: Helicopter Pilot (Instructor)

Location: Fort Rucker, Alabama

Amentum is seeking a highly skilled Helicopter Pilot (Instructor) to join our aviation education team in Fort Rucker, Alabama. In this role, the successful candidate will provide comprehensive flight instruction in the UH-72. Please note that prior military aviation experience or specific UH-72 qualification is not required.

Role Responsibilities

Amentum instructors are responsible for teaching, coaching, and mentoring student pilots, ensuring they are prepared for the challenges of military aviation. Safety is the cornerstone of our culture; instructors operate within a premier training environment, contributing to an organization that has provided instruction for over 2.5 million flight hours across a 40,000-square-mile operational area.

Minimum Pilot Qualifications

Must possess an ICAO equivalent or FAA commercial pilot certificate and an ICAO equivalent or FAA flight instructor certificate with rotorcraft category, helicopter class, and instrument helicopter ratings on both certificates, or be a graduate of any DOD rotary wing instructor pilot course.
Total Flight Time: 1,500 hours (as Pilot-in-Command or Second-in-Command).
100 hours of hooded instrument, flight simulator instrument, or weather pilot time.
Documented experience instructing students in instrument flight training.
75 hours of night flying experience.
500 hours of instructor time.
Must hold a current FAA Second Class Medical Certificate prior to the start of training.
Basic Warfighter Skills applicants must be certified Night Vision Goggle (NVG) qualified with 200 hours of NVG time.
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Compensation and Employment Details

The hourly rate for this position is $55.85. Compensation may vary based on experience, education, skills, and internal equity. All applicants are subject to Government approval and the terms of a 12-month Employee Agreement.
