Helicopter Pilot (Instructor) – Fort Rucker, AL

Amentum is currently seeking experienced professionals to join our aviation team as a Helicopter Pilot (Instructor) in Fort Rucker, Alabama. This role involves providing comprehensive UH-72 flight instruction to student pilots as part of our world-class aviation education program.

Role Overview

Amentum instructors are responsible for teaching, coaching, and mentoring military aviators. The successful candidate will uphold our rigorous safety standards while delivering high-quality flight instruction within the National Airspace System. Please note that military aviation experience or prior UH-72 qualification is not required for this position.

Minimum Pilot Qualifications

  • Must possess an ICAO equivalent or FAA commercial pilot certificate and an ICAO equivalent or FAA flight instructor certificate with rotorcraft category, helicopter class, and instrument helicopter ratings on both certificates, or be a graduate of any DOD rotary wing instructor pilot course for rotary wing aircraft.
  • Total Flight Time: 1,500 hours (as Pilot-in-Command or Second-in-Command per FAR 61.51, or Pilot in Command/Pilot per AR 95-1).
  • Minimum of 100 hours of hooded instrument, flight simulator instrument, or weather pilot time.
  • Documented experience instructing students in instrument flight training.
  • Minimum of 75 hours of night flying.
  • Minimum of 500 hours of instructor time.
  • Current FAA Second Class Medical Certificate.
  • Basic Warfighter Skills Applicants: Must be Night Vision Goggle (NVG) qualified with a minimum of 200 hours of NVG time.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States and provide proof of authorization.

Employment Requirements

Successful applicants are subject to Government approval and the terms of a 12-month employee agreement.

Compensation and Benefits

The hourly rate for this position is $55.85. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as job responsibilities, education, experience, skills, internal equity, market data, applicable collective bargaining agreements, and relevant laws.
