This vital role involves providing comprehensive instruction in the UH-72 helicopter. Responsibilities and Duties

Amentum instructors are dedicated to teaching, coaching, and mentoring aspiring military aviators through rigorous training programs. Safety is the cornerstone of Amentum's Rotary Wing Flight Training culture, underscored by an exceptional safety record encompassing over 2.5 million hours of flight instruction. Instructors operate within an expansive training area of more than 40,000 square miles within the National Airspace System, ensuring comprehensive real-world experience for students.

Minimum Pilot Qualifications

• Possession of an ICAO equivalent or FAA Commercial Pilot Certificate and an ICAO equivalent or FAA Flight Instructor Certificate, with rotorcraft category, helicopter class, and instrument helicopter ratings on both certificates. Alternatively, graduation from any Department of Defense rotary wing instructor pilot course for rotary wing aircraft is acceptable.
• A minimum of 1500 hours of total flight time. Flight time as pilot-in-command or second-in-command (as defined by FAR 61.51) or as Pilot in Command (PIC) or Pilot (PI) (as defined by AR 95-1) in aircraft of any weight or category is creditable toward this requirement.
• Certification of a combined total of 100 hours of instrument time, including hooded instrument, flight simulator instrument, or weather pilot time.
• Demonstrated experience instructing students in instrument flight training.
• A minimum of 75 hours of night flying experience.
• A minimum of 500 hours of instructor time.
• A current FAA Second Class Medical Certificate is required prior to commencing training.
• Basic Warfighter Skills applicants must be Night Vision Goggle (NVG) qualified and possess 200 hours of NVG time.
• Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States and able to provide proof of such authorization.

Employment Terms

Applicants are subject to government approval and the terms of a 12-month employment agreement.
