Candidates selected for hire will be instrumental in shaping the next generation of pilots destined for the world’s most sophisticated combat rescue, special operations, and global strike aircraft, including the MH-139 Grey Wolf and CV-22 Osprey. All future USAF vertical-lift aviators commence their careers at the 23d FTS, where Amentum's Air Force Division operates as an integrated partner, providing expert instruction across academics, simulations, and flight training for contact, instrument, and remote operations in the TH-1H Huey II helicopter.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide specialized instruction in the TH-1H Huey II helicopter, encompassing academic, simulation, and practical flight training.
• Conduct flight instruction covering contact, instrument, and remote operations for USAF vertical-lift flight students.
• Ensure strict adherence to all USAF flight regulations and maintain exemplary standards of aviation safety throughout the training curriculum.
• Act as a mentor and guide, contributing to the development of highly skilled and mission-ready USAF helicopter pilots.

Qualifications and Requirements

Prospective candidates for this challenging and rewarding position must meet the following mandatory criteria:

• Shall have previously qualified as a U.S. Air Force helicopter Instructor Pilot. (CV-22 pilots who attended SUPT-H or UHT qualify).
• Shall have been current in U.S. Department of Defense (DOD) military aircraft within the previous four (4) years, or within the previous six (6) years if the candidate possesses eleven (11) years of DOD military operational flying duty.
• Shall possess a minimum of 1,000 hours of total DOD military helicopter flight time.
• Shall possess a minimum of 200 hours of DOD military helicopter instructor time.
• Shall demonstrate a comprehensive working knowledge of all USAF flight regulations.
• Must hold a current FAA Second Class Medical Certificate prior to commencing Pilot Instructor Training (PIT).
• Physical requirement: Must not exceed 250 pounds in flight duty uniform.
• Must be able to successfully pass a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI).
• To be considered, candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States and be able to provide proof of such authorization.
