Instructor Pilot - Rotary Wing Flight Training

Position Overview

The organization is currently accepting applications for the highly regarded position of Instructor Pilot. Successful candidates will provide foundational flight instruction on the UH-72 Lakota helicopter. Military aviation experience or prior UH-72 qualification is not a prerequisite.

This role offers an opportunity to join a team of professional instructor pilots, leveraging extensive aviation knowledge and skill to support critical U.S. Army helicopter pilot training and contribute to national defense. Instructor Pilots deliver foundationally important training through a highly structured curriculum, operating state-of-the-art aircraft within an uncompromised safety-focused environment.

About the Organization

With a proven track record, the organization's Instructor Pilots have trained and educated over 1200 students annually, providing comprehensive classroom academic instruction and hands-on flight training to nearly 500 students daily. These aviation experts are dedicated to instilling student pilots with the essential knowledge, skills, and abilities required for safe and effective flight in today's complex aviation environment. Key Responsibilities of the Instructor Pilot

Instructor Pilots are responsible for teaching, coaching, and mentoring student pilots through intensive rotary wing flight training programs. These programs are meticulously designed to prepare students for their critical future roles as military aviators. Safety remains paramount and is integrated into every aspect of the organization's operational culture, mitigating the inherent risks of flight training.

The organization proudly maintains an unprecedented safety record, having accumulated over 2.5 million hours of flight instruction. Instructor Pilots conduct comprehensive flight instruction across an extensive operational area exceeding 40,000 square miles within the National Airspace System.

  • Employment is subject to Government approval and the terms of a 12-month Employment Training Agreement.
  • Successful candidates will be required to pass and maintain a U.S. Government background security check.
  • Completion of all required training and a government acceptance checkride is mandatory for selected applicants.
