The Opportunity

Amentum is seeking highly qualified and dedicated individuals for the pivotal position of Helicopter Pilot (Instructor) at Fort Rucker, Alabama. This role involves providing expert instruction in the UH-72 aircraft. Military aviation experience or prior UH-72 qualification is not a prerequisite for this position. The successful candidate will join a team renowned for its unparalleled instructor skill and experience, contributing significantly to the development of the next generation of military aviators.

Key Responsibilities

The Helicopter Pilot (Instructor) will:

• Deliver comprehensive instruction, coaching, and mentorship to student pilots.
• Guide student pilots through intensive training programs designed to prepare them for their future roles as military aviators.
• Conduct flight instruction with an unwavering commitment to safety, which remains paramount in every aspect of Amentum's Rotary Wing Flight Training culture.

Minimum Pilot Qualifications

Candidates for the Helicopter Pilot (Instructor) position must meet the following stringent qualifications:

• Possess an ICAO equivalent or FAA commercial pilot certificate AND an ICAO equivalent or FAA flight instructor certificate with rotorcraft category, helicopter class, and instrument helicopter ratings on both certificates, OR be a graduate of any Department of Defense (DOD) rotary wing instructor pilot course for rotary wing aircraft.
• Accumulate a minimum of 1500 total flight hours. This includes flight time as pilot-in-command or second-in-command (per FAR 61.51), or as Pilot in Command (PIC) or Pilot (PI) (per AR 95-1) in aircraft of any weight or category.
• Certify a combination of 100 hours of hooded instrument, flight simulator instrument, or actual weather pilot time.
• Demonstrate prior experience instructing students in instrument flight training.
• Possess a minimum of 75 hours of night flying experience.
• Accumulate a minimum of 500 hours of instructor time.
• Hold a current FAA Second Class Medical Certificate prior to commencing training.
• For Basic Warfighter Skills Applicants Only: Must be certified Night Vision Goggle (NVG) qualified and possess 200 hours of NVG time.
• Be legally authorized to work in the United States and provide verifiable proof of such authorization.
