Position Overview

Amentum is actively seeking a highly qualified and experienced INSTRUCTOR PILOT for the TH-1H helicopter program at Fort Rucker, Alabama (now Fort Novosel). This pivotal role involves providing comprehensive flight instruction to aspiring U.S. Air Force vertical-lift pilots. Demonstrated USAF military aviation experience is a mandatory prerequisite for this position.

The U.S. Air Force vertical-lift community performs critical missions globally, operating sophisticated aircraft ranging from the MH-139 Grey Wolf to the CV-22 Osprey. All these pilots commence their flying careers at the USAF’s premier helicopter flying training unit, the 23d Flying Training Squadron (FTS) at Fort Novosel, Alabama. Amentum Air Force Division operates as an integral partner with the 23d FTS, delivering expert instruction in academics, simulations, and flight training covering contact, instruments, and remote operations in the TH-1H Huey II helicopter.

Key Responsibilities and Qualifications

Prospective candidates for the Instructor Pilot position must fulfill the following stringent requirements:

Previously qualified as a U.S. Air Force helicopter instructor pilot. Candidates who are CV-22 pilots and have attended SUPT-H or UHT are eligible.
Possess current U.S. Department of Defense (DOD) military aircraft flight currency within the previous four (4) years. This period may extend to six (6) years if the candidate has accumulated eleven (11) years of DOD military operational flying duty.
Accumulated a minimum of 1,000 total hours of DOD military helicopter flight time.
Accumulated a minimum of 200 hours of DOD military helicopter instructor pilot time.
Demonstrate a comprehensive working knowledge of all U.S. Air Force (USAF) flight regulations.
Hold a current FAA Second Class Medical Certificate prior to commencing Pilot Instructor Training (PIT).
Maintain a body weight not exceeding 250 pounds while in flight duty uniform.
Successfully pass a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI).
Be legally authorized to work in the United States and provide verifiable proof of such authorization for employment consideration.
