Position Overview

The Helicopter Pilot Instructor provides critical flight instruction in the UH-72 aircraft. This role involves teaching, coaching, and mentoring student pilots through rigorous training programs designed to prepare them for their future careers as military aviators. While previous military aviation experience or UH-72 specific qualification is not required, a commitment to safety and excellence is paramount. Instructors conduct flight instruction within a vast area encompassing over 40,000 square miles of the National Airspace System, contributing to the company's exceptional safety record of more than 2.5 million hours of flight instruction.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive classroom academic instruction and hands-on flight training to student pilots.
• Provide expert instruction in the UH-72 helicopter.
• Teach, coach, and mentor students, guiding them through intensive training programs.
• Ensure all training activities adhere strictly to safety protocols and maintain the highest standards of aviation safety.
• Conduct flight instruction within designated airspace.

Required Qualifications

Candidates must meet the following minimum qualifications:

• Possess an ICAO equivalent or FAA Commercial Pilot Certificate AND an ICAO equivalent or FAA Flight Instructor Certificate. Both certificates must include Rotorcraft Category, Helicopter Class, and Instrument Helicopter ratings OR be a graduate of any DOD rotary wing instructor pilot course for rotary wing aircraft.
• A minimum of 1500 hours of Total Flight Time. Flight time logged as pilot-in-command, second-in-command (per FAR 61.51), Pilot in Command (PIC), or Pilot (PI) (per AR 95-1) in aircraft of any weight or category is creditable towards this requirement.
• Must certify a combination of at least 100 hours of hooded instrument, flight simulator instrument, or weather pilot time.
• Must have instructed students in instrument flight training.
• A minimum of 75 hours of Night Flying time.
• A minimum of 500 hours of Instructor Time.
• Must possess a current FAA Second Class Medical Certificate prior to beginning training.
• Basic Warfighter Skills Applicants must be certified Night Vision Goggle (NVG) qualified and have accumulated 200 hours of NVG time.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States and provide proof of such authorization.
