Helicopter Pilot (Instructor) - Fort Novosel, Alabama

Amentum is seeking highly qualified candidates for the position of Helicopter Pilot (Instructor) at Fort Novosel, Alabama. The selected individual will provide comprehensive flight instruction on the UH-72 helicopter platform. Military aviation experience or prior UH-72 qualification is not required for this role.

Amentum instructors play a crucial role in teaching, coaching, and mentoring student pilots through intensive training programs. These programs are specifically designed to prepare students for their future responsibilities as military aviators. Minimum Pilot Qualifications:

Candidates interested in the Helicopter Pilot Instructor position must meet the following minimum requirements:

• Possess an ICAO equivalent or FAA Commercial Pilot Certificate and an ICAO equivalent or FAA Flight Instructor Certificate with Rotorcraft Category, Helicopter Class, and Instrument Helicopter ratings on both certificates, OR be a graduate of any DOD rotary wing instructor pilot course for rotary wing aircraft.
• Accumulate a minimum of 1500 total flight hours. Flight time credited may include pilot-in-command or second-in-command time (per FAR 61.51) or Pilot in Command (PIC) or Pilot (PI) time (Per AR 95-1) in aircraft of any weight or category.
• Certify a combination of at least 100 hours of hooded instrument, flight simulator instrument, or weather pilot time.
• Demonstrate prior experience instructing students in instrument flight training.
• Document a minimum of 75 hours of night flying.
• Possess a minimum of 500 instructor hours.
• Hold a current FAA Second Class Medical Certificate prior to commencing training.
• Basic Warfighter Skills Applicants must be certified Night Vision Goggle (NVG) qualified and possess 200 hours of NVG time.
• Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States and provide proof of such authorization.
