Helicopter Pilot (Instructor)

Overview:

Amentum is seeking applications for the position of Helicopter Pilot (Instructor) at Fort Novosel, Alabama. The successful candidate will provide instruction in the UH-72 aircraft. Prior military aviation experience or specific UH-72 qualification is not mandatory for this role.

Role Responsibilities:

Amentum instructors are vital in teaching, coaching, and mentoring student pilots through rigorous training programs. These programs are meticulously designed to prepare students for their future roles as military aviators. While flight training involves inherent risks, safety is the paramount consideration woven into every aspect of Amentum's Rotary Wing Flight Training culture. With an exceptional safety record, boasting over 2.5 million hours of flight instruction, Amentum instructors conduct training operations across an expansive area exceeding 40,000 square miles within the National Airspace System.

Minimum Pilot Qualifications:

• Possess an ICAO equivalent or FAA commercial pilot certificate and an ICAO equivalent or FAA flight instructor certificate with rotorcraft category, helicopter class, and instrument helicopter ratings on both certificates, OR be a graduate of any DOD rotary wing instructor pilot course for rotary wing aircraft.
• Hold a Total Flight Time of 1500 hours. Flight time as pilot-in-command or second-in-command (per FAR 61.51); as Pilot in Command (PIC) or Pilot (PI) (Per AR 95-1) in aircraft of any weight or category is creditable.
• Certify having a combination of 100 hours of hooded instrument, flight simulator instrument, or weather pilot time.
• Must have instructed students in instrument flight training.
• Hold 75 hours of Night Flying time.
• Hold 500 hours of Instructor Time.
• Possess a current FAA Second Class Medical Certificate prior to beginning training.
• (For Basic Warfighter Skills Applicants) Must be certified Night Vision Goggle (NVG) qualified and have 200 hours of NVG time.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States and be able to provide proof of such authorization.
