Amentum is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Instructor Pilot at the US Army Aviation Center of Excellence in Fort Novosel, Alabama. This role involves providing critical flight instruction within the world's largest rotary wing flight school.

As a leading global government services contractor, Amentum partners with the U.S. Army at Fort Novosel to train approximately 1,000 helicopter pilots annually. This comprehensive program has successfully trained over 25,000 student pilots since 1989, many with little to no prior flying experience. The training environment encompasses a vast 40,000 square mile area and operates across multiple shifts to meet mission requirements.

The Instructor Pilot plays a pivotal role in preparing undergraduate student pilots for challenging operational environments. Responsibilities include delivering instruction in aviation theory, advanced simulation, and hands-on flight training in the UH-72 aircraft. Instructors guide students through months of thorough training, focusing on developing essential flying skills, leadership capabilities, and an unwavering commitment to safety. The program boasts an unprecedented safety record with over 2.3 million hours of flight instruction.

Important Considerations:

This position is subject to U.S. Government approval and requires signing a 12-month Employee Training Agreement. Selected candidates must successfully pass and maintain a U.S. Government background security check. Completion of specific training and a government acceptance checkride is mandatory after hire. Military aviation experience or prior UH-72 qualification is not a prerequisite for this role.
