Helicopter Pilot Instructor

Amentum is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Helicopter Pilot Instructor at Fort Novosel, Alabama. This role involves providing instruction in the UH-72 aircraft at the world's largest rotary wing flight school, serving the U.S. Army, Air Force, NATO, and allied nations. Military aviation experience or UH-72 qualification is not required.

The Helicopter Pilot Instructor will lead undergraduate student pilots through comprehensive training, encompassing aviation theory, simulator instruction, and actual flight training, preparing them for demanding operational environments. Instruction is conducted in shifts, spanning from early morning to late night, within a vast training area. A key aspect of the program involves cultivating leadership skills in student pilots.

Job Requirements:

• Must possess an ICAO equivalent or FAA commercial pilot certificate and an ICAO equivalent or FAA flight instructor certificate with rotorcraft category, helicopter class and instrument helicopter ratings on both certificates, or be a graduate of any DOD rotary wing instructor pilot course for rotary wing aircraft.
• Minimum of 1500 hours of total flight time, accrued as pilot-in-command or second in command (per FAR 61.51), or as Pilot in Command (PC) or Pilot (PI) (Per AR 95-1) in aircraft of any weight or category.
• Must certify having a combination of 100 hours of hooded instrument, flight simulator instrument, or weather pilot time.
• Demonstrated experience instructing students in instrument flight training.
• Minimum of 75 hours of night flying experience.
• Minimum of 500 hours of instructor time.
• Must possess a current FAA Second Class Medical Certificate prior to beginning MOI training.
• Maximum weight limit of 250 pounds in flight duty uniform.
• Must successfully pass a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI).
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States and provide proof of such authorization.

Important Considerations:

Employment is subject to Government approval and the terms of a 12-month Employee Training Agreement. Selected candidates must pass and maintain a U.S. Government background security check and successfully complete training and a government acceptance checkride.
