Helicopter Pilot (Instructor) - Fort Novosel, Alabama

Amentum is seeking qualified applicants for a Helicopter Pilot (Instructor) position at Fort Novosel, Alabama. This role involves instructing undergraduate student pilots in all aspects of helicopter flight, from aviation theory and simulator training to actual flight operations, preparing them for challenging combat scenarios. The training program, a partnership between the Army and Amentum, takes place at the US Army Aviation Center of Excellence, the world's largest rotary wing flight school. Amentum instructors play a vital role in training the next generation of Army helicopter pilots, contributing to a program renowned for its safety record and comprehensive curriculum.

Responsibilities:

The selected candidate will provide instruction in the UH-72 aircraft. Military aviation experience or UH-72 qualification is not required. Instructors lead students through rigorous training, developing both their flying skills and leadership abilities.

Requirements:

• Must possess an ICAO equivalent or FAA commercial pilot certificate and an ICAO equivalent or FAA flight instructor certificate with rotorcraft category, helicopter class and instrument helicopter ratings on both certificates, or be a graduate of any DOD rotary wing instructor pilot course for rotary wing aircraft.
• Minimum of 1500 hours of total flight time as pilot-in-command or second in command (per FAR 61.51); as Pilot in Command (PC) or Pilot (PI) (Per AR 95-1) in aircraft of any weight or category.
• Must certify having a combination of 100 hours of hooded instrument, flight simulator instrument, or weather pilot time.
• Experience instructing students in instrument flight training.
• Minimum of 75 hours of night flying.
• Minimum of 500 hours of instructor time.
• Must have a current FAA Second Class Medical Certificate prior to beginning MOI training.
• Must not exceed 250 pounds in flight duty uniform.
• Must be able to successfully pass a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI).
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States and provide proof of such authorization.

Applicants must be able to obtain Government approval and adhere to the terms of a 12-month Employee Training Agreement. Selected applicants will be required to pass and maintain a U.S. Government background security check and complete training with a government acceptance checkride.
