Amentum is seeking a qualified Instructor Pilot (TH-1H) to provide expert instruction at Fort Novosel, Alabama. The Instructor Pilot will deliver academic, simulation, and flight training to students in the TH-1H Huey II helicopter, covering contact, instrument, and remote operations. This position supports the 23d Flying Training Squadron (FTS) and contributes to the training of US Air Force vertical-lift aircrew.
Candidates must have prior qualification as a U.S. Air Force helicopter instructor pilot (CV-22 pilots who attended SUPT-H or UHT qualify). They should possess recent currency in U.S. DOD military aircraft, defined as within the previous 4 years, or within the previous 6 years if the candidate has performed 11 years of DOD military operational flying duty. Minimum experience requirements include 1,000 hours of total DOD military helicopter time and 200 hours of DOD military helicopter instructor time. A working knowledge of all USAF flight regulations is essential.
Additional requirements include a current FAA Second Class Medical Certificate prior to beginning PIT training, a weight limit not exceeding 250 pounds in flight duty uniform, and the ability to successfully pass a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI). Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States and provide proof of such authorization.
Selected applicants will be subject to Government approval and the terms of a 12-month Employee Training Agreement. They will be required to pass and maintain a U.S. Government background security check, complete training, and pass a government acceptance checkride.
