Amentum is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Instructor Pilot at the US Army Aviation Center of Excellence, Fort Rucker, Alabama. This role involves training Army helicopter pilots, contributing to a program that graduates approximately 1,000 pilots annually. Instructors lead undergraduate student pilots through comprehensive training, encompassing aviation theory, simulator instruction, and actual flight training, preparing them for demanding operational environments. Safety is a paramount concern, reflected in the program's exceptional safety record. Instruction is conducted in shifts across a large training area, emphasizing the development of leadership skills alongside technical proficiency.
Applicants must be able to obtain and maintain U.S. Government approval, and employment is subject to the terms of a 12-month Employee Training Agreement. Selected candidates must pass and maintain a U.S. Government background security check and complete a government acceptance check ride. Experience instructing in the UH-72 is beneficial, but not required. Military aviation experience is also not required.
