Amentum is seeking a highly qualified Instructor Pilot (TH-1H) to join their team at Fort Novosel, Alabama. The selected candidate will provide expert instruction in the TH-1H helicopter to United States Air Force personnel. This role is integral to the 23d Flying Training Squadron (FTS), where Amentum serves as a key partner, delivering academic, simulation, and flight training for contact, instrument, and remote operations. The position emphasizes safety, and the program maintains an exceptional safety record. This opportunity represents a collaborative effort between the Air Force, the Army, and Amentum.
Responsibilities: The Instructor Pilot will provide comprehensive flight instruction, ensuring students are proficient in all aspects of TH-1H operations. They will be a key contributor to a program that has a focus on safety and will work closely with military personnel and other instructors.
Qualifications: Candidates must have prior experience as a U.S. Air Force helicopter instructor pilot (CV-22 pilots who attended SUPT-H or UHT qualify). They must be current in U.S. Department of Defense (DOD) military aircraft within the previous four years or within the last six years, provided the candidate has 11 years of DOD military operational flying duty. The position requires 1,000 hours of total DOD military helicopter time, including 200 hours of DOD military helicopter instructor time. The individual must possess a working knowledge of all USAF flight regulations, a current FAA Second Class Medical Certificate before commencing Pilot Instructor Training (PIT), and must not exceed 250 pounds while in flight duty uniform. A successful National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) is also required.
Additional Information: Employment is subject to government approval and a 12-month Employee Training Agreement. Successful candidates must also pass and maintain a U.S. Government background security check, complete training, and pass a government acceptance checkride.
