Amentum is seeking a qualified Helicopter Pilot Instructor to join their team at Fort Novosel, Alabama. This position involves instructing student pilots in the UH-72, preparing them for demanding operational environments. Military aviation experience or UH-72 qualification is not a prerequisite for this role. Selected candidates will undergo a 12-month Employee Training Agreement and must successfully pass and maintain a U.S. Government background security check, as well as complete required training and a government acceptance checkride.

The successful candidate will provide comprehensive instruction, encompassing aviation theory, simulator training, and practical flight experience. Amentum instructors play a crucial role in training approximately 1,000 Army helicopter pilots annually at the U.S. Army Aviation Center of Excellence. The program emphasizes safety and leadership development, operating in a multinational training environment managed in partnership with the Army. The training schedule includes shifts from early morning to late night, covering a 40,000-square-mile training area.

Applicants must possess an ICAO equivalent or FAA commercial pilot certificate and an ICAO equivalent or FAA flight instructor certificate with rotorcraft category, helicopter class, and instrument helicopter ratings on both certificates, or be a graduate of a Department of Defense rotary wing instructor pilot course for rotary wing aircraft. A minimum of 1500 total flight hours is required, with time as pilot-in-command or second-in-command being creditable. The candidate should also have 100 hours of instrument time, a combination of hooded, flight simulator, or weather pilot time and have instructed students in instrument flight training. Additionally, 75 hours of night flying and 500 hours of instructor time are mandatory. A current FAA Second Class Medical Certificate is required prior to beginning MOI training. Candidates must not exceed 250 pounds in flight duty uniform and must successfully pass a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI).
