Amentum is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Instructor Pilot at the US Army Aviation Center of Excellence in Fort Rucker, Alabama. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the training of future Army helicopter pilots, shaping the next generation of aviation professionals.
Overview:
As an Instructor Pilot, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive flight instruction in the UH-72 aircraft. You will play a vital role in developing the skills and knowledge of student pilots, ensuring they are prepared for the demands of military aviation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality flight instruction, adhering to established standards and safety protocols.
- Provide theoretical and practical training in aviation principles, aircraft systems, and flight procedures.
- Evaluate student pilots' performance and provide feedback for continuous improvement.
- Foster a safe and positive learning environment for all students.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of a world-class training program.
Qualifications:
Essential:
- Hold an ICAO equivalent or FAA commercial pilot certificate and an ICAO equivalent or FAA flight instructor certificate with rotorcraft category, helicopter class and instrument helicopter ratings on both certificates. Alternatively, be a graduate of any DOD rotary wing instructor pilot course for rotary wing aircraft.
- Minimum 1500 hours of flight time as pilot-in-command or second in command (per FAR 61.51); as Pilot in Command (PC) or Pilot (PI) (Per AR 95-1) in aircraft of any weight or category.
- Possess a combination of 100 hours of hooded instrument, flight simulator instrument, or weather pilot time.
- Experience instructing students in instrument flight training.
- 75 hours of night flying.
- 500 hours of instructor time.
- Current FAA Second Class Medical Certificate.
- Weight not exceeding 250 pounds in flight duty uniform.
- Ability to successfully pass a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI).
Preferred:
- Military aviation experience or UH-72 qualification.
