Helicopter Pilot (Instructor) - Fort Novosel, Alabama
Amentum is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Helicopter Pilot (Instructor) to join its team at Fort Novosel, Alabama. This role is integral to the training of future Army helicopter pilots, contributing to the development of essential skills and expertise within the US Army Aviation Center of Excellence.
The successful candidate will provide instruction in the UH-72 helicopter. While prior military aviation experience or UH-72 qualification is not mandatory, candidates must possess a deep understanding of aviation principles and a passion for sharing knowledge. Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive instruction in the UH-72 helicopter, encompassing both theoretical and practical aspects.
- Mentor and guide student pilots, fostering their development as skilled and confident aviators.
- Maintain a high standard of safety throughout the training process, adhering to rigorous safety protocols.
- Collaborate effectively with fellow instructors and support personnel to ensure a cohesive and productive learning environment.
- Contribute to the ongoing improvement of the training program, embracing innovative teaching methods and technologies.
Qualifications:
Essential:
- Possession of an ICAO equivalent or FAA commercial pilot certificate and an ICAO equivalent or FAA flight instructor certificate with rotorcraft category, helicopter class, and instrument helicopter ratings on both certificates.
- Alternatively, successful completion of a DOD rotary wing instructor pilot course for rotary wing aircraft.
- Minimum of 1500 hours of flight time as a pilot-in-command or second in command (per FAR 61.51) or as Pilot in Command (PC) or Pilot (PI) (Per AR 95-1) in aircraft of any weight or category.
- Certification of 100 hours of hooded instrument, flight simulator instrument, or weather pilot time.
- Proven experience in instructing students in instrument flight training.
- Minimum of 75 hours of night flying experience.
- Minimum of 500 hours of flight instructor experience.
- Current FAA Second Class Medical Certificate prior to commencing training.
- Ability to meet the maximum flight duty uniform weight limit of 250 pounds.
- Successful completion of a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI).
Preferred:
- Previous experience as a UH-72 pilot.
- Military aviation experience.
