Helicopter Pilot (Instructor) - Fort Novosel, Alabama
Amentum is seeking a highly qualified and experienced Helicopter Pilot (Instructor) to join our team at Fort Novosel, Alabama. This role is crucial in the training of future Army helicopter pilots, contributing to the critical mission of the U.S. Army Aviation Center of Excellence.
Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive flight instruction in the UH-72 helicopter, utilizing a rigorous training program designed to prepare student pilots for the demands of combat operations.
- Lead and mentor undergraduate student pilots through months of intense training, encompassing aviation theory, simulator instruction, and actual flight training.
- Foster a culture of safety and excellence within the program, maintaining the high standards of the U.S. Army Aviation Center of Excellence.
- Collaborate effectively with the Army and other stakeholders to ensure seamless and impactful training delivery.
Qualifications:
- Possess an ICAO equivalent or FAA commercial pilot certificate and an ICAO equivalent or FAA flight instructor certificate, both with rotorcraft category, helicopter class, and instrument helicopter ratings. Alternatively, candidates may be graduates of any DOD rotary wing instructor pilot course for rotary wing aircraft.
- Demonstrate a minimum of 1500 hours of total flight time, with at least 500 hours as a flight instructor.
- Possess a minimum of 100 hours of hooded instrument, flight simulator instrument, or weather pilot time.
- Have experience in instrument flight training instruction.
- Hold a current FAA Second Class Medical Certificate prior to commencing training.
- Must not exceed 250 pounds in flight duty uniform.
- Be able to successfully pass a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI).
