Amentum, a leading multi-service contractor, is seeking qualified individuals to join its team of Instructor Pilots at the U.S. Army Aviation Center of Excellence (USAACE) at Fort Rucker, Alabama.
Overview:
Amentum instructors play a vital role in training the next generation of Army helicopter pilots, shaping the future of military aviation. As an Instructor Pilot, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive flight instruction to undergraduate student pilots, guiding them through rigorous training to prepare them for the challenges of combat.
Responsibilities:
- Delivering high-quality instruction in the UH-72 helicopter.
- Leading student pilots through a multifaceted training program encompassing aviation theory, simulator instruction, and actual flight training.
- Emphasizing safety in all aspects of training, upholding Amentum's exemplary safety record.
- Fostering leadership skills and preparing student pilots for the complexities of combat operations.
Requirements:
- Licensing: Must possess an ICAO equivalent or FAA Commercial Pilot Certificate and an ICAO equivalent or FAA Flight Instructor Certificate with Rotorcraft category, Helicopter class, and Instrument Helicopter ratings on both certificates. Alternatively, candidates may be graduates of any DOD rotary wing instructor pilot course for rotary wing aircraft.
- Flight Time: Minimum of 1500 hours of flight time as pilot-in-command or second in command (per FAR 61.51); flight time as Pilot in Command (PC) or Pilot (PI) (Per AR 95-1) in aircraft of any weight or category is creditable for this requirement.
- Instrument Proficiency: Must certify having a combination of 100 hours of hooded instrument, flight simulator instrument, or weather pilot time.
- Instructor Experience: Must have instructed students in instrument flight training.
- Night Flying: Minimum of 75 hours of night flight experience.
- Instructor Time: Minimum of 500 hours of instructor time.
- Medical Certification: Must hold a current FAA Second Class Medical Certificate prior to beginning training.
- Physical Requirements: Must not exceed 250 pounds in flight duty uniform.
- Security Clearance: Must be able to successfully pass a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI).
