Instructor Pilot - US Army Aviation Center of Excellence, Fort Rucker, Alabama
Amentum is seeking a highly qualified and experienced Instructor Pilot to join our team at the US Army Aviation Center of Excellence in Fort Rucker, Alabama. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to the training of the next generation of Army helicopter pilots, a critical component of the nation's defense.
About the Role:
The Instructor Pilot will provide comprehensive flight training to undergraduate student pilots in the UH-72 aircraft. This training encompasses aviation theory, simulator instruction, and actual flight training, preparing students for the challenges of combat operations.
Responsibilities:
- Delivering high-quality flight instruction to undergraduate student pilots in the UH-72 aircraft.
- Implementing a safe and effective training program that adheres to the highest safety standards.
- Mentoring and guiding student pilots in developing leadership skills and tactical proficiency.
- Working collaboratively with the Army and Amentum team to ensure a seamless training experience.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Possession of an ICAO equivalent or FAA commercial pilot certificate and an ICAO equivalent or FAA flight instructor certificate with rotorcraft category, helicopter class and instrument helicopter ratings on both certificates, or be a graduate of any DOD rotary wing instructor pilot course for rotary wing aircraft.
- Minimum 1500 hours of total flight time as pilot-in-command or second in command (per FAR 61.51); as Pilot in Command (PC) or Pilot (PI) (Per AR 95-1) in aircraft of any weight or category is creditable for this requirement.
- Certification of 100 hours of hooded instrument, flight simulator instrument, or weather pilot time.
- Experience instructing students in instrument flight training.
- 75 hours of night flying experience.
- 500 hours of instructor time.
- Current FAA Second Class Medical Certificate prior to beginning MOI training.
- Weight not exceeding 250 pounds in flight duty uniform.
- Ability to successfully pass a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI).
Preferred:
- Military aviation experience or UH-72 qualification.
