At Fort Rucker, the world's largest rotary wing flight school, Amentum aviation experts provide comprehensive training to approximately 1,000 Army helicopter pilots annually. Our dedicated instructors, with a proven track record spanning over three decades, have successfully trained over 25,000 student pilots.

Comprehensive Training from Simulator to Sky:

As an Instructor Pilot, you will guide aspiring aviators through a rigorous training program encompassing aviation theory, simulator instruction, and actual flight training. You will instill in them the skills and confidence needed to operate the UH-72 helicopter and navigate the complexities of combat aviation. Safety remains paramount, reflected in our program's unparalleled safety record of over 2.3 million hours of flight instruction.

As a leading multi-service contractor, Amentum takes pride in working alongside the armed forces to protect American interests both domestically and globally.

Qualifications:

• ICAO equivalent or FAA commercial pilot certificate and an ICAO equivalent or FAA flight instructor certificate with rotorcraft category, helicopter class and instrument helicopter ratings on both certificates, or graduation from a DOD rotary wing instructor pilot course for rotary wing aircraft.
• 1500 hours total flight time. (Flight time as pilot-in-command or second in command per FAR 61.51; as Pilot in Command (PC) or Pilot (PI) per AR 95-1 in aircraft of any weight or category is creditable).
• 100 hours of combined hooded instrument, flight simulator instrument, or weather pilot time.
• Experience instructing students in instrument flight training.
• 75 hours of night flying.
• 500 hours of instructor time.
• Current FAA Second Class Medical Certificate prior to beginning training.
• Weight not exceeding 250 pounds in flight duty uniform.
• Ability to successfully pass a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI).

Military aviation experience or UH-72 qualification is not required.
