Our expert instructors train approximately 1,000 student pilots annually, transforming them from novice aviators into confident pilots ready to navigate the complexities of helicopter operations.

With a steadfast commitment to safety, our program boasts an unparalleled safety record of over 2.3 million hours of flight instruction.

The Role of an Instructor Pilot

As an Instructor Pilot, you will play a pivotal role in preparing student pilots for the demands of flying Army helicopters. You will instruct on the UH-72 platform, leveraging your experience and expertise to instill confidence and competence in the next generation of Army aviators. While military aviation experience or UH-72 qualification is not a prerequisite, a passion for instruction and a commitment to excellence are paramount.

Applicant Requirements

• ICAO equivalent or FAA Commercial Pilot Certificate
• ICAO equivalent or FAA Flight Instructor Certificate with Rotorcraft Category, Helicopter Class, and Instrument Helicopter Ratings (or graduation from a DoD rotary wing instructor pilot course)
• 1500 Hours Total Flight Time (PIC or SIC)
• 100 Hours Hooded Instrument, Flight Simulator Instrument, or Weather Pilot Time
• Experience Instructing Instrument Flight Training
• 75 Hours Night Flying
• 500 Hours Instructor Time
• Current FAA Second Class Medical Certificate
• Weight Limit: 250 pounds in flight duty uniform
• Ability to pass a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI)
