Amentum seeks highly skilled and dedicated individuals to join its team as Instructor Pilots at the prestigious US Army Aviation Center of Excellence, Fort Rucker, Alabama. This is a unique opportunity to play a critical role in training the next generation of Army helicopter pilots, shaping the future of aviation within the United States Armed Forces.

At Fort Rucker, the largest rotary wing flight school in the world, Amentum aviation experts provide comprehensive training to approximately 1,000 student pilots annually. For over three decades, our instructors have prepared over 25,000 individuals, many with minimal prior experience, for the demands of military aviation. This program boasts an unparalleled safety record with over 2.3 million flight instruction hours, a testament to our commitment to rigorous safety protocols.

The Instructor Pilot Role:

The selected candidates will guide undergraduate student pilots through an intensive training program encompassing aviation theory, simulator exercises, and hands-on flight training in the UH-72 helicopter. This immersive program, conducted in shifts starting at dawn and extending into the night, covers a vast training area exceeding 40,000 square miles. Beyond technical proficiency, instructors are instrumental in fostering leadership skills and preparing students for the challenges of combat.

Essential Qualifications:

Government Requirements:

Applicants are subject to Government approval and the terms of a 12-month Employee Training Agreement. Selected candidates will undergo a U.S. Government background security check, complete comprehensive training, and pass a government acceptance checkride.
