About the Role

Amentum's Airlift operation is seeking a highly experienced and dedicated Chief Flight Attendant (CFA) to lead its Flight Attendant Department in Las Vegas, Nevada. This critical full-time, on-site role involves supervising all Airlift Flight Attendants (FAs) while maintaining currency as a qualified FA, providing subject matter expertise, and ensuring compliance with federal regulations and company policies for company-operated jet aircraft.

• Supervises the Flight Attendant Department within the Airlift organization, administering company, organization, and customer policies and procedures.
• Reports directly to the Senior Director of Operations and is administratively responsible for all Airlift Flight Attendants.
• Provides subject matter expertise to Airlift management regarding contract performance, overall flight operations, policies, procedures, and directives.
• Provides work direction to a staff of regular and secondary, additional duty Flight Attendants (ADFAs).
• Ensures all policies and work assignments comply with the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) and company policy, addressing issues, grievances, and participating in negotiations.
• Coordinates with the Flight Attendant Scheduler to maximize utilization and augment flying schedules with ADFAs.
• Conducts employee evaluations and documents performance.
• Makes recommendations to the Senior Director of Operations regarding promotions, raises, hires, and terminations.
• Coordinates recruiting requisitions and interviews prospective employees.
• Coordinates ground and flight training with the Aircraft Flight Crew Trainer to ensure compliance with 14 CFR Part 121, DCMAI 8210.1C, and company requirements.
• Monitors training course curricula for proper context and instruction per Federal Regulations, coordinating changes to maintain currency.
• Confirms computer-based training completion.
• Initiates revisions, changes, and deletions to company FA manuals, checklists, and training manuals for strict compliance with applicable directives.
• Coordinates and reviews manual revisions with all Airlift department supervisors to ensure incorporation across appropriate company flight manuals.
• Oversees the currency and serviceability of all Flight Attendant Manuals carried aboard company aircraft.
• Audits Flight Attendant Memo Files to keep personnel current with changes occurring between manual revisions.
• Recommends new procedures, policies, and directives to enhance professionalism, standardization, and performance within the Airlift Department.
• Maintains currency as a qualified Airlift FA and performs flying duties as workload permits.
• Performs annual assessments and Captain upgrade requirements as needed.
• Conducts Initial and Recurrent training and qualification events.

Requirements

• Liaises with the Chief Pilot, Flight Standards, Flight/Ground Safety, and Station Managers to monitor line FA performance and implement effective mentoring, counseling, and disciplinary procedures in accordance with union rules/CBA.
• Participates as a member of the Company’s Safety Management System (SMS) to improve safety culture within the Airlift operation.
• Collaborates on potential and actual safety concerns, contributing inputs to the Airlift SMS process to identify and mitigate risks.
• Prepares for and participates in the Airlift Audit program and the Commercial Airlift Review Board visit.
• Identifies and manages the career aspirations of line FAs, ensuring training plans meet operational needs and develop FAs for managerial positions.
• Ensures adherence to contract standards as defined in the contract and statement of work.
• Performs related duties and assignments as directed by the Program Manager or Senior Director of Operations.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret US Government Security Clearance. US Citizenship is required for clearance eligibility.

Qualifications

• Five (5) or more years of experience in the Flight Attendant career field.
• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Prior experience should include assignments as a senior or lead flight attendant.
• Must pass company-operated jet aircraft Emergency Training and Initial Flight Attendant Training, and maintain currency as a Flight Attendant.
• Experience and credentials in training other Flight Attendant personnel; other teaching/training experience may be substituted.
• Possess a valid state-issued driver’s license.
• Ability to present a neat, professional appearance and maintain good health.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds, required for tasks such as retrieving passenger luggage and operating cabin doors on company aircraft.
