Job Summary
Amentum is seeking a qualified Plane Captain to perform aircraft handling, servicing, and inspections at its [Location] facility. This role involves ensuring aircraft readiness and providing technical assistance to ground support operations.
About the Role

Perform aircraft handling, servicing, and daily/turnaround inspections according to established procedures.

Complete applicable maintenance forms and conduct aircraft fuel sampling/servicing.

Launch and recover aircraft, acting as a taxi director and brake rider when necessary.

Secure aircraft through tying down and covering procedures.

Provide technical assistance, guidance, and instruction to support personnel.

Ensure compliance with Foreign Object Damage (FOD), Hazardous Waste, Egress Familiarization, and Tool Control programs.

Adhere to all general and industrial safety rules and regulations.

Operate portable firefighting equipment and maintain the cleanliness of the work center.
Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent.

Two (2) or more years of experience in aviation maintenance and/or flight line operations.

Valid Driver’s License.

Ability to obtain/maintain government/company license, qualification, certification, and clearance requirements.

Proficiency in reading, writing, understanding, and communicating in English, and following instructions.

Thorough knowledge of applicable safety and maintenance manuals.

Working knowledge of aircraft flight line operations, handling, servicing, marshaling, common hand tools, and operational safety requirements.

Physical ability to climb, bend, stoop, squat, crawl, crouch, kneel, carry, balance, reach, push, and pull up to 70 pounds.

Excellent vision, including color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Normal hearing range.

Must complete training and be certified as a Plane Captain, with semi-annual requalification.

Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret US Government Clearance (US Citizenship required).

Must be qualified on all assigned T/M/S (Type/Model/Series).

Availability to work all assigned shifts and schedules.
Preferred Qualifications
-
Experience with F-18 (A-F), EA-18G, E-2C, F-16, and/or MH60 aircraft.

Licensing and certifications including Hazardous Waste Communications Training, FOD and TCP Awareness Trained, ISO 9001-2000 Program Awareness, and Operational Risk Management (ORM) Training.

Licensed on support equipment such as tow tractors, nitrogen servicing carts, engine wash carts, and engine start units.

Experience handling hazardous materials.

Eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity.

Potential requirement to use a respirator.
