Job Title: Plane Captain
Amentum is seeking a professional Plane Captain to join our aviation operations team. The successful candidate will perform critical aircraft handling, servicing, and inspection duties, providing technical assistance and ground support to ensure mission readiness and safety.
Essential Responsibilities

Execute daily and turn-around aircraft inspections in accordance with established procedures.

Manage aircraft fuel sampling, servicing, launching, and recovery operations.

Serve as an aircraft taxi director and perform towing and brake-rider duties as required.

Initiate and complete all necessary maintenance documentation.

Secure and cover aircraft following standardized protocols.

Provide technical guidance and instruction to team members.

Operate two-way communication equipment and portable firefighting apparatus.

Maintain compliance with Foreign Object Damage (FOD), Hazardous Waste, Egress Familiarization, and Tool Control programs.

Adhere to all industrial safety regulations and ensure the security of government and company equipment.

Maintain a clean, professional work environment and provide exceptional customer service.
Minimum Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent.

Minimum of two (2) years of experience in aviation maintenance or flight line operations.

Valid Driver’s License.

Proficiency in the English language (written and verbal).

Thorough knowledge of aircraft flight line operations, marshaling, servicing, and safety manuals.

Ability to pass a physical assessment: lifting up to 70 lbs, climbing, crawling, and maneuvering in various positions.

Vision requirements: Ability to distinguish colors, depth perception, and peripheral vision.

Must complete and maintain a formal Plane Captain certification (semi-annual re-qualification required).

Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Government Clearance (U.S. Citizenship required).

Prior military personnel must provide a member 4 DD214 with an Honorable discharge.

Must be qualified on all assigned Type/Model/Series (T/M/S) aircraft and available to work all assigned shifts.
Preferred Qualifications

Specific experience with F-18 (A-F), EA-18G, E-2C, F-16, or MH60 aircraft.

Current certifications in Hazardous Waste Communications, FOD/TCP Awareness, ISO 9001-2000, and Operational Risk Management (ORM).

Licensure for support equipment, including tow tractors and nitrogen/engine servicing carts.
Compensation and Benefits
Hourly Rate:
$50.66 (Rate set by Collective Bargaining Agreement).
