Position Overview

Amentum seeks an exceptionally qualified and highly professional First Officer (Co-Pilot), designated as Second in Command (SIC), to support specialized flight operations in Las Vegas, Nevada. The incumbent will operate the Boeing 737-600 Next Generation (B737-600NG) aircraft, executing missions involving the critical transport of passengers and cargo.

Essential Responsibilities

The First Officer serves as the Pilot Second in Command of the B737-600NG, ensuring the highest standards of safety, efficiency, and regulatory compliance are maintained across all phases of flight. Key duties include:

  • Executing assigned duties as Pilot Flying (PF) and diligently performing specified responsibilities as Pilot Monitoring (PM) during all flight operations.
  • Assisting the Pilot in Command (PIC) and maintaining preparedness to assume full command authority should the PIC become incapacitated.
  • Upholding the utmost safety and security for all passengers, crew, cargo, and the aircraft asset.
  • Ensuring strict compliance with all applicable Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs), company policies, and directives issued by Air Traffic Control (ATC).
  • Conducting thorough pre-flight preparations, including the detailed review of maintenance logs, planned routes, current weather reports and forecasts, Notices to Air Missions (NOTAMs), and pilot information files (PIFs).
  • Maintaining comprehensive operational familiarity with critical documentation, including the Airman’s Information Manual (AIM), the aircraft manufacturer’s Flight Crew Operations Manual (FCOM), Flight Crew Training Manual (FCTM), Quick Reaction Handbook (QRH), the Customer’s Site Procedures Manual (SPM), and the Company’s Flight Operations Manual (FOM).
  • Accurately computing aircraft weight and balance data, as well as calculating required takeoff and landing performance data.
  • Performing additional position-related responsibilities as directed by the Pilot in Command or management.

Minimum Qualifications and Requirements

Prospective candidates must meet stringent regulatory and security requirements, demonstrating exceptional professionalism and experience:

  • Possession of a current US DOT/FAA First Class Medical Certificate (including required EKG if the applicant is more than 39 years old).
  • Must hold a US DOT/FAA Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate, specifically with an unrestricted B737 Type rating.
  • Requires a current US Department of Defense (DOD) Top Secret / Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) security clearance.
  • Must possess a current US Department of Homeland Security (DHS)/Transportation Security Administration (TSA) LAS airport badge.
  • Required to possess a current US Passport or valid US Birth Certificate.
  • Must hold a current US state-issued Driver’s License.
  • Documented flight experience totaling a minimum of 1,500 in-seat hours as a crewmember in fixed-wing powered aircraft.
  • Mandatory compliance with all US DOT 14 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) requirements for pilots, specifically Parts 60, 61, 67, 117, 120, and 121, including the age 65 limit, as stipulated and amended by the Customer.
  • The successful candidate must maintain all required training and checking currency in accordance with Company policy and 14 CFR Part 121, as amended by the Customer.

  • Starting Hourly Rate: $50.11 per hour.

Work Environment and Physical Demands

The role is predominantly executed within the cockpit of a jet aircraft, which is characterized as a small, confined space. The environment is subject to high noise levels, extreme temperatures, and low humidity. The position is primarily sedentary, though it requires specific physical manipulations, including walking, bending, stretching, climbing, and precisely manipulating aircraft controls from a seated position.

The First Officer may be subjected to significant physical and mental stress resulting from potential in-flight emergencies, exposure to inclement weather, high levels of noise, vibration/turbulence, and visual/audio/tactile sensory requirements necessary for operation.
