About the Role
As a Flight Attendant for Alaska Airlines or Hawaiian Airlines, the primary responsibility is to create memorable inflight experiences for passengers. This involves upholding high customer service standards, managing a flexible schedule, and acting as a brand ambassador. Key duties include ensuring passenger safety and security, assisting passengers with their needs, and maintaining a positive and professional demeanor. This is a union-represented position.
Requirements

Must be 21 years old at the time of application.

Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.

Must be a U.S. citizen or a registered alien with legal authorization to work in the United States.

Must possess and maintain a valid U.S. passport or appropriate international travel documentation with at least six months of validity remaining.

Ability to read, write, and speak English proficiently.

Two years of customer service or community service experience.

Ability to reach 82 vertical inches without shoes.

Comfortable participating in emergency training, including being in a swimming pool with a life vest.

Ability to properly secure oneself in a jump seat and move expeditiously through the cabin.

Willingness and ability to serve alcohol.

Basic technology skills for mobile device navigation.

Ability and willingness to travel extensively, work varied schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays, and be away from home overnight.

Ability to complete pre-employment requirements, including drug testing and background checks.

Current employees must be in good standing and have been in their current role for at least one year.

Must be able to adhere to either Alaska Airlines or Hawaiian Airlines Uniform Policy Guidelines.

Able to work in an environment with varying climatic conditions, gravitational loads, and cabin pressurization levels, including standing for extended periods and performing tasks such as stooping, twisting, and pulling/pushing equipment.

Ability to lift 35 lbs.
Hawaiian Airlines Specific Requirements

Ability to attend an FAA-approved, unpaid intensive training for 8 weeks in Honolulu.

Must meet Hawaiian Flight Attendant uniform and appearance standards.

Ability to relocate and/or work from any of the current or future Hawaiian flight attendant bases (Honolulu HI, Los Angeles CA, Seattle WA).

Ability to complete and pass a tuberculosis (TB) test.
Alaska Airlines Specific Requirements

Ability to attend an FAA-approved, unpaid intensive training for 6 weeks in Seattle.

Must meet Alaska's uniform and appearance standards.

Ability to relocate and/or work from any of the current or future Alaska flight attendant bases (Los Angeles CA, Portland OR, Seattle WA, San Diego CA, Anchorage AK, San Francisco CA).
