Alaska Airlines is seeking experienced and professional First Officers (FO) to join its dynamic flight operations team. Based in various domiciles including Seattle, WA; Los Angeles, CA; Anchorage, AK; Portland, OR; San Diego, CA; and San Francisco, CA, this union-represented role is crucial for ensuring the safe transport of passengers and maintaining the airline's commitment to excellence.
About the Role

Serve as Second in Command, responsible for the safe and efficient transport of passengers, mail, freight, or other commercial purposes.

Uphold the highest standards of safety by adhering to Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs), Company Flight Procedures, and Company Policies on all scheduled flights and routes.

Operate Company aircraft in strict compliance with established Qualification Standards and all Flight Manual operating procedures and policies.

Maintain a professional demeanor and conduct business to ensure a positive experience for all guests and interactions with personnel.

Communicate effectively with all required agencies and personnel, aligning with Company Communication Practices.

Possess knowledge commensurate with an Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate holder, including all aspects of applicable FARs and the Aeronautical Information Manual (AIM).
Requirements

Minimum of 1,500 hours of total documented flight time.

A current First Class FAA Medical Certificate.

Minimum of 500 hours of fixed wing turbine time (airplane and powered lift combined).

Possess and/or obtain a current passport with unlimited access to and from the United States, maintaining at least six months of validity at the time of employment. Employees with non-U.S. passports will also require appropriate travel documentation.

Ability to travel immediately and repeatedly to any domestic or international location served by Alaska Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines.

FAA Commercial Pilot Certificate with Instrument-Airplane rating.

Completion of all aeronautical experience requirements for an Airline Transport Pilot (ATP), Airplane category rating, as stipulated in 14 CFR §61.159.

Current ATP written exam passed.

Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.

Possess a valid Driver’s License issued by a US state or US territory.

Comfortable with a domicile in Seattle, WA; Los Angeles, CA; Anchorage, AK; Portland, OR; San Diego, CA; or San Francisco, CA.

Demonstrated excellent judgment, leadership skills, commandability, and maturity.

Ability to use sound judgment in decision-making and maintain composure under pressure.

Minimum age of 23 years.

Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

High school diploma or equivalent.

Ability to obtain and maintain an Airport Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) Badge provided by the airport authority. Failure to qualify or maintain the SIDA badge will result in termination.
Preferred Qualifications

Four-year degree from an accredited university.

An FAA Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate.

500 hours of multi-engine airplane time.

Minimum of 50 hours of flight time within the last 12 months.

500 hours of turbine Pilot in Command (PIC) time.
-
Turbojet/turboprop experience in a complex flying environment.
