Alaska Airlines is seeking highly professional and experienced First Officers (FOs) to join its flight operations team. Based at key hubs including Seattle, WA; Los Angeles, CA; Anchorage, AK; Portland, OR; San Diego, CA; or San Francisco, CA, this role involves operating company fixed-wing turbine aircraft and ensuring exceptional safety and guest experience.
About the Role
As a First Officer with Alaska Airlines, you will serve as Second in Command, responsible for the safe and efficient transport of passengers, mail, and freight. Piloting company aircraft, you will uphold the highest standards of professionalism, adhering strictly to Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs), Company Flight Procedures, and all Flight Manual operating policies. This role demands excellent judgment, strong communication, and a commitment to living the airline's values, including ownership of safety, delivering performance, acting with integrity, and demonstrating care and kindness to guests and colleagues. This is a union-represented position.
Requirements

Minimum of 1,500 hours of total documented flight time.

Current First Class FAA Medical Certificate.

Minimum of 500 hours of fixed-wing turbine time (airplane and powered lift combined).

Possess a current passport with unlimited access in and out of the United States, with at least six months of validity remaining at the time of employment. Non-U.S. passport holders must also possess all appropriate travel documentation.

Ability to travel immediately and repeatedly to any domestic or international location served by Alaska Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines.

FAA Commercial Pilot Certificate with Instrument-Airplane rating.

All aeronautical experience requirements for an Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) Certificate, Airplane category rating, as set forth in 14 CFR §61.159.

Current ATP written exam.

Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.

Possess a valid Driver’s License issued by a U.S. state or U.S. territory.

Comfortable with a domicile in Seattle, WA; Los Angeles, CA; Anchorage, AK; Portland, OR; San Diego, CA; or San Francisco, CA.

Minimum 23 years of age.

Authorized to work in the U.S.

High school diploma or equivalent.

Demonstrated excellent judgment, leadership skills, commandability, and maturity.

Ability to use sound judgment in decision-making and maintain composure under pressure.

Ability to obtain and maintain an Airport SIDA badge in good standing. Failure to qualify or maintain the SIDA badge will result in termination.
Qualifications (Preferred)

Four-year degree from an accredited university.

FAA Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) Certificate.

500 hours of multi-engine airplane time.

Minimum of 50 hours of flight time within the last 12 months.

500 hours of turbine Pilot-in-Command (PIC) time.

Turbojet or turboprop experience in a complex flying environment.
