Alaska Airlines is seeking a qualified First Officer to join their team in Seattle, WA. This role is responsible for ensuring the safety and positive experience of all guests during flight operations, upholding a high level of professionalism and adhering to company values and regulations.
About the Role
The First Officer serves as the Second in Command for the transport of passengers, mail, freight, or for other commercial purposes. This union-represented position requires strict compliance with Federal Aviation Regulations, Company Flight Procedures, and Company Policies to ensure flight safety. The role demands professional conduct, operation of company aircraft according to established standards, and effective communication with all required agencies and personnel. Candidates must possess knowledge commensurate with an airline transport pilot certificate and a comprehensive understanding of applicable Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs) and the Aeronautical Information Manual (AIM).
Requirements

Minimum of 1,500 hours of total documented flight time.

A current First Class FAA Medical Certificate.

Minimum of 500 hours of fixed-wing turbine time (airplane and powered lift combined).

Possession of a current passport with unlimited access into and out of the United States, with at least six months of validity remaining at the time of employment. Appropriate travel documentation for non-U.S. passports is also required.

Ability to travel immediately and repeatedly to any domestic or international location served by Alaska Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines.

FAA Commercial Pilot Certificate with Instrument-Airplane rating.

All aeronautical experience requirements for an Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) with an Airplane category rating as set forth in 14 CFR §61.159.

Current ATP written exam.

Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.

A valid Driver’s License issued by a U.S. state or U.S. territory.

Comfort with a domicile in Seattle, WA; Los Angeles, CA; Anchorage, AK; Portland, OR; San Diego, CA; or San Francisco, CA.

Preferred Qualifications

Four-year degree from an accredited university.

An FAA Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate.

500 hours of multi-engine airplane time.

Minimum of 50 hours of flight time within the last 12 months.

500 hours of turbine Pilot in Command (PIC) time.

Turbojet/turboprop experience in a complex flying environment.
