First Officer / Second in Command (SIC) - Commercial Aviation

Role Summary and Responsibilities

The First Officer executes the duties of a Second in Command (SIC) during scheduled commercial air transport operations. This critical role is dedicated to ensuring the highest standards of safety and operational efficiency while facilitating the movement of passengers, mail, freight, and other commercial cargo.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Performs effectively as Second in Command in all phases of flight operations, supporting the Pilot in Command and upholding safe transport objectives.
  • Facilitates the safe and timely transport of passengers, mail, freight, or other commercial purposes on scheduled routes and flights.
  • Ensures strict adherence to all Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs), established Company Flight Procedures, and internal safety protocols to maintain operational integrity and safety of flight.
  • Maintains professional compliance with all relevant Company Policies and standards throughout all assigned duties.

Minimum Mandatory Qualifications

Candidates applying for the Second in Command position must satisfy the following essential flight time and certification requirements:

  • A minimum of 1,500 total documented hours of flight time.
  • Possession of a current, valid First Class FAA Medical Certificate.
  • A minimum of 500 hours of documented fixed-wing turbine time, which may include a combination of airplane and powered lift configurations.
